Chinese OEM OnePlus has announced plans to open its Research and Development centre in India, showcasing the growing importance of India as a market for the company. Despite inching towards premium segment pricing with every phone release, OnePlus has been finding increasing success in the country. The R&D facility will be located in Hyderabad, and will play a critical role in the development of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning software for OnePlus products, as well as drive innovations. India is currently one of the biggest markets for OnePlus, notwithstanding the fact that the company has largely shed its affordable flagship tag.
