Samsung's Galaxy S10-Series Screen Sizes Revealed

Samsung's Galaxy S10 Lite, S10 and S10+ Screen Sizes The famous leakster Evan Blass just published three renders that are supposed to be the upcoming Galaxy S10 lineup from Samsung. However, the post explicitly states that the images are based on a case manufacturer's expectations. According to the renders the smallest S10 Lite would have 5.8-inch display with a punch hole for camera in the middle while the regular S10 will sport 6.1-inch panel with the same front-facing camera design. The biggest S10+ version will have a massive 6.4-inch display with two holes for dual-camera setup. The renders are probably based on the rumours so far, so we suggest taking the news with a healthy portion of skepticism. But on the other hand, the report comes from trust-worthy source and coincidently, Ice Universe (another well-known leakster) confirms the screen sizes in a reply under the post. At least we can take the screen sizes out of this. Source

As of today, Samsung has opened registrations and has begun pushing the beta firmware OTA for the Samsung Galaxy Note9 in India and Germany, as well as finally began pushing the OTA to those who registered on Samsung + app in the United States. Samsung caught using DSLR photo on Galaxy A8 Star landing page

By the point, it's safe to say you can never assume that phone makers promote their phones using actual photos taken with the product that they are advertising. Is this false advertising? Only if you note explicitly says one thing and lies about it. Otherwise, is it up to interpretation? This time, the photo in question is one that you can find on the Hong Kong version of Samsung's  Galaxy A8 Star landing page . Scroll down a bit and you'll see it, describing Live Focus and how the user can manually adjust the Bokeh effect to as little or as much as they want. Only, this photo wasn't actually shot with the darn thing. Source: diyphotography.net shot by Dunja Djudjic This is ironic because Samsung did the exact same thing with the Samsung Galaxy A8 earlier this year, in two tweets by Samsung Brazil. Apparently, posting a selfie to promote a smartphone that wasn't taken with with actual phone and then watermarking "Samsung" in the photo isn't fal...

Samsung may have Narrowed Down the Galaxy S10's Design

The Samsung Galaxy S10 will be a drastically different device from the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S9. The phone has been rumored for months and we’ve only heard that Samsung’s next flagship smartphone might have a hole cut-out for a selfie camera. Today, a patent from Samsung depicts possible designs for future models that all adopt the Infinity O model  that Samsung announced during its recent developer conference, this model is a full display with rounded corners and a single circular cut-out to let the camera see through the glass. The patent was filed with WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office). Source: LetsGoDigital Models A and B are the only two designs that feature a lock-screen rendered in color. Model A’s corners are more like the Galaxy Note9’s squarer corners while Model B’s are much closer to the Galaxy S9 corners. Other models like C, E, F, and J have curved glass at different edges and configurations.   But whichever design Samsung goes for...

Samsung's Foldable Galaxy F Rendered in 3D

Samsung  announced the infinity Flex Display  last week, but not the actual phone that will use it - the best we got was a schematic look at its design. LetsGoDigital has put  together some 3D renders based on patent drawings from Samsung rather than CAD design. A render of the Samsung foldable phone (based on Patent drawings and other info) In its folded form the phone, tentatively called Galaxy F, presents you with a 4.6” 480 x 1,960px display. The “hinge” looks similar to the one on the Surface Book, but this design hasn't been confirmed (it's one of several options patented by Samsung). The  concept video  from a couple of days ago really overestimated the size of the small screen. Hidden inside is a tablet-sized screen that unfolds to 7.3” in diagonal and 1,536 x 2,152px resolution. Samsung worked with Google to  design the UI  so apps can go between the small and the big screens seamlessly. Samsung will reportedly do another demo of t...

Samsung Launches Exynos 9820 with 2Gbps LTE Modem, Tri-cluster CPU and Dedicated NPU

Samsung released its latest Exynos 9820 chipset for smartphones. It is based on the 8 nm LPP (Low Power Plus) FinFET process and is an evolution from the 10 nm Exynos 9810. The Exynos 9820 SoC came with 2 Gbps LTE modem, Tri-cluster CPU and improved NPU. Samsung implemented 4th-gen CPU with two custom cores for ultimate processing power, two Cortex-A75 cores for performance and a third cluster of four Cortex-A55 units for efficiency. The company said the new configuration has intelligent task scheduler to boost multi-core performance by 15% from the previous Exynos. The single-core results would be up to 20% and provide 40% power efficiency. The LTE-Advanced Pro modem is another step towards 5G chipsets with 2 Gbps downlink speeds, but the company deterred from using the next-gen term in its press release. Technical specs included 8x CA and 316 Mbps uplink. Like its predecessor, the Exynos 9820 relies on 4x4 MIMO, 256-QMA and eLAA technology for “blazing speeds.” On the G...

Samsung Reveals Key Specs For It's Upcoming Foldable Smartphone

Samsung Infinity Flex Samsung took the wraps off its  new Infinity Flex Display device , the first foldable hybrid gadget from the company that transforms from a phone into a tablet. Samsung says it plans to go into mass production for just the display in the “matter of months,” but we don’t really know much of anything about it beyond the brief glimpse we got onstage today. It’s a total mystery what it will cost, and we know very little about how the software will really function and just how many different display orientations it supports. At a session, at its developer conference, Samsung did   reveal some new information about the planned device, including pixel density, screen size, and aspect ratio in both the folded and unfolded modes, as reported by CNET's  Shara Tibken :  Photo Credit/ Shara Tibken Pixel density is a standard 420 ppi, which is not the highest out there, but perfectly fine. Samsung Unveils It's Foldable Smartphone

Samsung Infinity Flex Samsung  has unveiled it's much-anticipated foldable smartphone for the first time today. Samsung calls its foldable phone technology the Infinity Flex Display, and the phone itself has a tablet sized screen that can be folded up to fit into a pocket. Samsung demonstrated a “disguised” device during its developer conference today, and dimmed the lights to protect elements of the design. “There’s a device inside here,” said Justin Denison, SVP of mobile product marketing. “And it is stunning.” Denison then showed a device that folded out into a tablet and back up into a candybar-like form factor. The device includes a cover display that acts as a phone, and a main 7.3-inch tablet display. Up to three apps will be able to run simultaneously, using something Samsung calls multi active window. Samsung says it will be able to start mass production of the Infinity Flex Display in a “matter of months,” according to Denison. Samsung isn’t saying exactly...
